Updates (as of Oct 1, 2025)
1. I now teach a Zumba class at Kapiolani 24Hr Fitness gym. My class starts at 11:30am every Tuesday. I also often sub Silver Sneakers (senior fitness) from 10:30am to 11:30am. The Silver Sneakers come right before my Zumba class. Join me for some fun dance cardio, strength training, balance training, coordination drills and chair yoga/pilates. Great for the body and brain! :)
2. I started a new class at Mililani Rec 1, called Senior Fitness, on July 8, 2025. Designed to meet the needs of adults aged 60 and older (though younger people are welcome), my focus is on improving muscular strength and endurance, balance, flexibility, coordination, mobility, and cognition. Chair Yoga and Chair Pilates will be incorporated to improve your flexibility and core strength. Functional fitness that mimics daily movements, will be included to help you improve your ability to perform everyday tasks. Exercises are done seated and standing, with background music as a motivator and also to help guide the pace of the exercises.
Bring 2 dumbbells and a resistance tubing (with handles). Dumbbells may be 2-lb, 3-lb or 5-lb each. We recommend light to medium resistance for the resistance tubing. People new to resistance training should start with 2-lb dumbbells and light resistance tubing. Please come dressed in comfortable workout clothing, athletic shoes, and don’t forget your water bottle.
3. My Zumba classes at the Mililani Rec Center, have been temporarily moved from Rec 3 to Rec 1 due to renovation being done at Rec 3. We may or may not move back to Rec 3 when the renovation work is completed, depending on factors such as the parking and time slot availability. In the meantime, please join me and my participants every Wednesday and Thursday at Rec 1 for my fun dance cardio classes and senior workout class where I teach aging adults functional fitness. We have a nice private room on the second floor, overlooking the pool and the water slide. The address is:
